All grapes are grown on the vineyard in Murrumbateman, NSW (Canberra District Geographic Indicator). Wimbaliri lies at a latitude 35 degrees south, 3 km from the village.

The oldest vines are now 25 years. Wimbaliri’s average vine age is more than 20 years. The youngest vines are the Shiraz at 15 years.
The grapes are all handpicked, without exception.

Unique for the region, the vineyard is close-planted, a widely-adopted European approach which aims to promote competition between the vines and lead to higher quality fruit. This approach to planting is unusual in Australia as it inhibits significant mechanisation in the vineyard.
